Meeting & Rituals
Daily Standup
Each project team usually comes together every morning or before lunch break for a quick sync. Daily stand-up is not meant to be a report, but to help facilitate self-organisation within the team. Here are typical questions asked during the daily stand-up:
- What did you work on yesterday?
- What are you going to do today?
- Anything that’s blocking you?
Daily stand-up shouldn’t last longer than 15 minutes.
Meeting Culture
We encourage you to have an effective meeting only when necessary. Here are some guidelines to help you conduct a meeting:
- Consider if it really needs to be a meeting.
- By default, no more than three participants in the meeting unless necessary (e.g. town hall meeting).
- A meeting should be less than 30 minutes.
- Invite anyone who is necessary to make a decision, as well as those who will be affected by the decision.
- Prepare and provide an agenda and clear goals in the meeting invitation.
- Take notes during a meeting.
- Summarize the meeting with action items.
Respect each other’s time and make sure that the meeting is productive.
